you’re part of our story.

Twenty years of showing up, pitching in, and giving back—together.

Look through our Care Card photos and you’ll find people gathered around a fabric sample, leaning in over a book, or putting an arm around someone for a picture. There’s so much of Bungalow in those moments: a little discovery, a good conversation, and the pleasure of being here together.

This year, Bungalow celebrates 25 years in business and 20 years of partnering with the Board of Visitors’ Care Card. Before we open the doors for another launch day, we wanted to look back at the people who have helped make it a tradition.

If you’ve bought a Care Card through Bungalow, brought a friend to the party, helped behind the scenes, or returned year after year, you’re part of this story.

it began with a yes.

Linda Criswell remembers women from the Board of Visitors coming into the store to talk about Care Card and raising money for Ryan House. It was an invitation to put Bungalow’s energy—and its community—behind a cause they cared about.

“And we passionately said yes, we would love to participate.”

— Linda Criswell, Bungalow co-founder

That enthusiasm has carried through the years. The causes have given us a reason to gather, and our customers, families, and team have kept showing up.

all hands on deck.

Ask Alicia Flatin what Care Card has meant at Bungalow, and she starts with family.

“Care Card for us is a family affair. It’s like all hands on deck.”

— Alicia Flatin, Bungalow co-founder

She remembers parents, children, friends, and sisters coming in to help, with the whole staff there and family even flying in for the event. It takes a lot of people to make a day like this happen, and their time and generosity have become part of the tradition.

The photographs hold some of the quieter moments, too: a conversation at the counter, a shared look through a book, a few people stopping to consider a fabric. Those are the moments that make a busy store feel personal.

and yes, we remember the food.

Linda still remembers the year Alicia’s mother catered beef bourguignon for the party. She recalls guests coming for the food and how much everyone enjoyed it.

Then there are the little details in the photographs: treats laid out for guests, our old elephant logo on cookies, and Bungalow cups carrying a familiar bit of advice—“Buy What You Love.” They bring back a whole era of gathering at the store.

thank you for making it yours.

A tradition lasts because people make room for it. You’ve put Care Card on your calendars, bought cards, shared the event with friends, and helped support the causes at the center of it all. We’re grateful to every customer, team member, family member, and Board of Visitors volunteer who has been part of these 20 years.

As you look through these photographs, perhaps you’ll recognize a face, an old corner of the showroom, or a moment you remember. We’d love to hear your Care Card memory the next time you’re in.

come celebrate with us.

This year, Care Card purchases support The BIG Pink Bus, a program of Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center bringing mobile 3D mammography to women across the Valley, including those who face barriers to screening.

Bring your wish list, bring a friend, and join us for another year of Care Card at Bungalow. We’re so glad you’re part of it.

with love, bungalow
